6th Annual Luggi Foeger Uphill / Downhill Festival & SkiMo Race
The Lake Tahoe Basin’s premier SkiMo competition and family-friendly festival returns to Diamond Peak Ski Resort. Competitors race to the top of the mountain using any human-powered method – skins, snowshoes, or running shoes – then ski, snowboard, snowshoe, or run back down to the finish line.
For less competitive participants, a recreational course to mid-mountain is available. The weekend also features uphill demos, live DJs, an awards ceremony in the Loft Bar, and a Winter Wildlife Snowshoe Hike on Sunday morning.
About the Festival
Named in honor of Luggi Foeger, founder and original general manager of Diamond Peak, the Uphill/Downhill Festival celebrates human-powered sports, mountain culture, local craft beer, and springtime in the Lake Tahoe region.
