Towns Olympic Valley

Olympic Valley, California 96146

Halfway between Truckee and Lake Tahoe lies Olympic Valley, one of the most famed and inspiring alpine settings of Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley). Alex Cushing and Wayne Poulsen are credited with opening the valley for human enjoyment. Hosting the Squaw Valley Olympic Winter Games in 1960 also boosted its popularity.

Palisades Tahoe embodies the spirit of adventure and exploration, offering 3,600 acres of skiing and riding across six peaks. Beginners can enjoy mellow mountaintops with views of Lake Tahoe, while experts can take on steeps, bowls, and cliffs. Palisades Tahoe also has the longest season in Lake Tahoe, where music, spring pool parties, and pond skimming contests bring spring fever to life.

In summer, Olympic Valley transforms into an outdoor paradise with hiking trails, bike paths, paintball, disc golf, roller skating, swimming, and more, all accessed by Palisades Tahoe’s scenic Aerial Tram.

When it comes time to unwind, visitors can choose from four-star hotels, condos, and cabins, whether looking for a relaxing retreat or an adventure-filled getaway.
